Mr. Daouda Mohamed
Assalamualaikum to all!
My name is Daouda Mohamed, and I’m a lead teacher here at Ibn Sina Islamic Academy.
A brief look into my life: my family is from Niger, but I was born and raised in North Carolina. I recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), where I earned a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.A. in English. I’ve always been a Muslim, but I only recently joined the ICT community around 2020. Each year, I find myself becoming more involved with the community, alhamdulillah.
Now, about my educational journey: I started as a substitute teacher while attending UNCG. I had the opportunity to work at various schools, filling in K-12 vacancies and implementing lesson plans left by teachers. After graduation, I became a 6th-grade ELA teacher in the WS/FCS system. There, I learned how to build relationships with students and parents, manage classrooms, plan lessons, and create a sustainable classroom environment. As I explore the field of education, I’ve realized the importance of giving scholars a well-rounded learning experience that prepares them to become tomorrow’s leaders. To achieve this, we must foster an environment that encourages a love for learning and nurtures curiosity.
As an eager learner and teacher, I’m very excited to serve the community here at Ibn Sina Islamic Academy. I look forward to meeting and building relationships with scholars, students, and their parents, all while upholding the high standards set here at Ibn Sina!
Sincerely,
Daouda Mohamed
