Testing and Assessment
At Ibn Sina Islamic Academy, we use standardized testing to assess student learning, track progress, and ensure academic excellence. These assessments help us understand students' strengths and areas for growth, guiding our instructional strategies to best support their learning.
Types of Assessments we use
IOWA Test of Basic Skills (ITBS)
- A nationally recognized standardized test that measures students' academic achievement in core subjects.
- Taken by grades K-5
- Purpose: Evaluates student performance compared to national norms.
MAP Growth Test (Measure of Academic Progress)
- A computer-adaptive test that adjusts to student ability and tracks progress over time.
- Taken by grades K-5
- Purpose: Helps tailor instruction by measuring growth in math, reading, and language arts.
End-of-Grade (EOG) Tests
- State-mandated assessments measuring proficiency in core subjects.
- Taken by grades 3-5
- Purpose: Determines grade-level mastery and readiness for the next academic year.
